Our
History
Chef Don Reinhold was a distinguished culinary figure, born in North Brookfield, Mass., in 1923. His passion for cooking was shaped by his experiences as a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving in the Pacific theater. Alongside his friends, chefs Skip Marden and Phil Learner, he co-founded the Piscataqua Chapter of the American Culinary Federation. Throughout his career, Chef Don Reinhold owned several renowned Seacoast restaurants and a catering business, leaving a lasting impact on the culinary scene. His dedication was recognized with a lifetime achievement award in 1995 and the prestigious Chef of the Year title in 2002. Notably, Chef Don Reinhold also made it a priority to pass on his culinary knowledge and skills to younger generations, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire.

Following in the footsteps of Chef Don Reinhold, his son, Stan Reinhold, continued the family's culinary tradition. Born in Alexandria, VA, in 1950, Stan was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Navy before venturing into the culinary world. His journey led him to Johnson & Wales University, where he graduated with top honors and embarked on a successful career in the culinary industry. Not only did Stan achieve professional recognition, earning the title of Executive Chef of the Year in 2008, but he and his wife also established their own business, Jam2Jar LLC, showcasing their entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to gastronomy.

Building upon the family's culinary heritage, Chef Ashley Reinhold represents the newest generation to carry the torch. With a profound appreciation for traditional family recipes, Chef Ashley's culinary journey began at a young age, cooking alongside her grandfather, Stan Reinhold. Her formal training at Johnson & Wales University and diverse experiences in various kitchens further honed her skills. In 2018, Chef Ashley established Kastle Catering, infusing her menu with a modern twist on classic dishes and an emphasis on utilizing seasonal, high-quality ingredients. Proudly continuing her family's legacy, Chef Ashley has brought a fresh perspective to Kastle Catering, offering a unique culinary experience that reflects her passion for the art of cooking.
