Stay golden!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts (e.g., pecans or walnuts)

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease or line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.

  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter and brown sugar until well combined. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.

  4. Gradually add the flour mixture into the butter mixture, and stir until just combined.

  5. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, and optional chopped nuts.

  6. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  8. Allow the blondie brownies to cool in the pan for about 15-20 minutes, then use the parchment paper overhang to lift them out onto a cutting board. Cut into squares or rectangles.
