Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • Optional: sprinkles

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and confectioners' sugar until smooth and creamy.

  3. Add the vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, and mix until well combined.

  4. Gradually add the flour and salt to the mixture, and stir until a soft dough forms.

  5. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out your desired shapes.
